I do art, videos, and the occasional closed captions. For the lack of a better summary: I am fledgling at everything.

[RANT] Lack of Artist Connections

Posted by Itsmega - February 28th, 2024

So, just the other day, I had posted a soon-to-be released piece as feedback and gauge interest on how it's doing and I only had a response from an old acquaintance of mine, who is also an artist, no one else.

I've known them since 2021 and our relations have been a roller coaster (some good, some bad) at the very least.

I'm starting to get real upset to the fact that, they are the only source of feedback, because everybody else I know is either a musician, a doctor, an IT SecOps person, a gamer or not passionate in art to give feedback.

I keep recognizing their skill in the craft, and so do other people unrelated to art in the public SNS's, but that's not case for me, I only get that recognition behind closed doors and my frequently visited group chats either have delayed response times or I get no response all together.

If you ever find my artwork, please share it around and leave a comment, it costs nothing and keeps me going.

Thanks for taking the time to read through my tangent, have a great rest of your day.

I know how that feels... I don't really get any feedback from anyone either cause no in my family or friend group is an artist like me. Social media isn't giving me much, and with what's currently going on, I feel less compelled to share on them. You're not alone in this kind of situation, and I really hope it gets better for you. At least, I'll recognize and credit you if I see your work.

I would say don’t get discouraged and keep posting art. Getting going is the toughest part just based on how much art (good or bad) flows through the portals. But just gotta keep at it out of passion.
